Insurance providers Bell & Co to sponsor Derbyshire’s tour fixture versus Australia.

The Bell & Co Tour Match

April 2015

Bell & Co have backed the Derbyshire versus Australia tour match in July with a major sponsorship package.

Hundreds of tickets are already sold for the three day visit of Michael Clarke’s side featuring fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, all-rounder Steve Smith and hard-hitting opening batsman David Warner starting Thursday 23 July. It is, by some distance, the best-selling match ahead of the 2015 season with interest said to be unprecedented for this early stage.

Bell & Co Managing Director, Richard Salt said:

We’re thrilled to be associated with the eagerly awaited visit of the Australia cricket team to Derby. The excitement of Australia coming to the city has the potential to pull in a bumper crowd from across the region and we are delighted to be headline sponsors and joining fellow 1870 Business Club members in supporting the event. The who’s who of Derbyshire business are going to be at The 3aaa County Ground during those three days. It’s a great thing for us to be involved in. Recognising that this is a big community event, we will also be inviting local school children to form the guard of honour for both teams and experience top international cricket right on their doorstep.”

Derbyshire Head of Commercial, Ryan Duckett added:

It’s great to have Bell & Co on board as match sponsors. They’ve been a great supporter of the Club for a number of years. They are our preferred partner for insurance, providing a great service that we really value. This game will be important preparation for the Australian’s ahead of the Edgbaston Test match and a great opportunity for our players to test themselves against some of the world’s best. The Australian touring side are always a huge draw and it’s great to be selling hundreds of tickets for a game this far out and we’re expecting a full ground. Touring sides don’t carry big squads. We’re going to see world class players and big names in action, there’s no doubt about that. It going to be a great three days.”
